I was in JoAnns one day and found some of the pre sewn quilt material and fell in love with it, but unfortunately it was $14.99 a yard! I finally made it to the flannel section to find they had the JoAnn brand flannel $2.99 a yard. I quickly started piecing together a few coordinating material. I only needed 1/4 yard of minky and it was perfect I was able to upcycyle the solid pink material from some old velvet curtains my sister had redone for her neighbor. All in all the quilt cost $12. It is about a 40" by 40" quilt and perfect for our little one to have in her crib.
I cut 100 4" squares and did my best to not double up on any pattern pieces. It turned out really well and only took one weekend to do it! The quilt is so soft heavy. I even have material left over for some bibs or pajama pants.
